STATE-FEDERAL JUDICIAL ROUNDTABLE: KEY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN STATE AND FEDERAL PRACTICE

New York Commercial Division Justice Saliann Scarpulla will moderate panels of state and federal judges to discuss several key differences between practices in New York state and federal courts. First Department Justice Barbara Kapnick and Second Circuit Judge Richard Sullivan will address difference in appeal practice. First Department Justice Judith Gische and Eastern District of New York District Judge Pamela Chen will address differences in evidence rules. New York Supreme Court Justice Debra James and Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Stewart Aaron will address differences in discovery practices. The panelists also will field questions from the audience.
