Cryptocurrency and Cybersecurity

This presentation will focus on explaining to the audience several key concepts in the ICO space including: (i) what is an ICO, or digital asset, and is it a “security,”; (ii) are they all just “bitcoins”; and (iii) are digital assets inherently fraudulent or used only for nefarious purposes. In addition, the program will explore how the recent growth of digital assets effects more “traditional” notions of data privacy and incident response including: (i) addressing a ransomware attack; (ii) proper incident response procedures; and (iii) disclosure obligations; and (iv) criminal issues related to ransomware.
