The Future of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
September 12, 2012 6:30 PM
Despite several years of increasing prosecutorial and
regulatory interest in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (the
"FCPA"), many questions still remain unresolved: Will individual
prosecutions remain a focus given recent reversals? When is
voluntary disclosure in the best interest of the company? How will
DOJ and the SEC work with overseas regulators in cross-border
investigations? Will law reform efforts result in the establishment
of a defense for companies with robust compliance programs? These
and other questions will be discussed by an all-star panel of FCPA
lawyers.
Panelists will include:
- The Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, Partner, Debevoise
& Plimpton; former U.S. Attorney General and Chief Judge of the
United States District Court for the Southern District of New
York
- Dennis McInerney, Chief, Fraud Section, Department of
Justice
- George Canellos, Deputy Director of Enforcement,
Securities and Exchange Commission
