The Inn is divided into pupilage groups whose composition is balanced with members of varying degrees of experience and backgrounds.  Each team prepares and presents one program during the term (September through May, excluding the December holiday social meeting) for which one hour of continuing legal education credit is earned.   Programs deal with important issues facing members of the legal profession and contribute to improving professionalism, civility and ethics in the legal community.  Many programs are designed to be interactive.

The Inn meets on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May (except the joint Inn is on a different night) starting at 5:00 PM.  The meeting begins with a social gathering, followed by dinner and the CLE presentation.

The Executive Committee meets over the summer each year to create suggested topics for the presentations for the upcoming Inn year.  The committee attempts to propose a range of topics to avoid dupication of efforts and to ensure that there is a variety of content.  The pupilage groups however are free to create their own topic for the group's program.

There are two special Inn meetings each year.  The December Holiday party has no CLE Program.  However, Inn Members are ecouraged to contribute gifts and gift cards for youth in foster care in Delaware.    In March, the Melson-Arsht Inn and the other Inns of Court in the State hold a joint continuing legal eduation program, followed by a reception and dinner featuring a key note speaker.
