On October 23, 2014 Justice Randy J. Holland received the
prestigious Lewis F. Powell Award for Professionalism and Ethics by
the American Inns of Court. The award was presented at the 2014
American Inns of Court Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme
Court of the United States which was hosted by Associate Justice
Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The Lewis F. Powell Award for Professionalism and Ethics is
awarded each year to a lawyer or judge who has rendered exemplary
service in the areas of legal excellence, professionalism and
ethics.
Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote a letter in support of Justice
Holland's nomination and said: "I have known Justice Holland for
several years and have admired his qualities of intelligence,
integrity, and strength of character. I wholeheartedly endorse
Justice Holland for the Lewis F. Powell Award."
