452 years after the founding of St. Augustine, the oldest continuously occupied city in the United States gets its first American Inn of Court 

The Inn was chartered on July 18th, 2017 as St. Johns County's first Inn, and held its founding Masters meeting on November 14th, 2017, and first General Meeting on January 9th, 2018. 

The St. Augustine American Inn of Court is dedicated to the ideals of the legal profession and the improvement of the practice through education, mentorship, and service. Our Inn strives to encourage professionalism, ethics and civility across the bench and bar. 

The Inn has been recognized for achieving Silver Status in the American Inns of Court Achieving Excellence program. 

Members are assigned to pupillage groups consisting of:

- Masters (jurists and attorneys with more than 15 years of experience);

- Barristers (attorneys between 5 and 15 years of experience);

- Associates (attorneys with less than 5 years of experience).

Each pupillage group consists of a mix of masters, barristers, and associates.  Pupillage groups are assigned to present a program of interest to the general membership at each meeting. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits can be obtained for attendance and participation at programs.
