Welcome back to the Judge Henry Woods Inn of Court! Not only am I happy to see our members in person again, but I am happy to have new members and students and want to extend my warmest welcome to them.
As we enter our 19th year of the Judge Henry Woods Inn of Court, I am reminded of the goal of Inn membership which is to help our member lawyers and judges rise to higher levels of excellence, professionalism, and ethical awareness. The last two years have brought about unprecedented changes in all areas of our personal and professional lives. No area was unchanged, including our Inn. In 2020, our Inn went completely virtual. In 2021, we had to pivot back and forth between in person and virtual meetings. However, the constant throughout this time has been the dedication, the resiliency, and professionalism of the members of this Inn.
I’m confident the members will continue to excel this year as Robert has a fantastic theme planned titled “Back to the Basics: Practical Skills for the Practice of Law.” It is designed to be more of a “how to” learning (or refresher) opportunity – the tricks of the trade, the finesse, the pizzazz – if you will. I’m really quite excited about it. I think there will be something to gain for all our members -- from our student members to the most seasoned litigators.
Although I have the distinction of serving as the Inn President, it takes a strong and capable committee to operate successfully. As always, I encourage you to reach out to myself or any of the board members with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have as we are here to serve our members:
- Counselor Robert Tellez
- Secretary/Treasurer Teresa Wineland
- Board Member Honorable John Dan Kemp
- Board Member Honorable Mike Reif
- Board Member Honorable Joe Volpe
- Board Member Stacy Williams
- Past President April Golden
Additionally, Inn member and Administrator, Jennifer Davis, continues to handle the logistics for our Inn and is always available to assist our members.
I am looking forward to another great Inn Year!!
Kindest regards,
Brent J. Eubanks
