The George McAlmon American Inn of Court Membership

Membership in The George McAlmon American Inn of Court is divided into three classifications. Masters of the Bench consist of lawyers, judges and law professors with at least 25 years of experience. Barristers consist of lawyers, judges and law professors with fifteen but less than twenty five years of experience. Associates consist of lawyers with at least two but less than 15 years of experience.

Each member is selected for a one-year term. Members are selected each year through the nomination process by the Executive Committee. Renewal of membership is contingent upon each member's level of participation in the Inn the previous year and that member's commitment to the Inn.

Nominations for new Inn members are solicited from the Inn's active members. Membership is limited and the number of admissions is based upon the available number of openings. As such, Nominees should not be told they are being nominated unless their membership is approved by the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee is accepting nominations for the 2019-2020 term until April 30, 2019 and it will vote on nominations in May.

The Membership Chair for The George McAlmon Inn is Kamie Smith. Please feel free to contact him or the Inn Administrator,  Marina J. Hammond, with any questions you may have. All membership nomination forms can be sent to Marina J. Hammond.  For tracking purposes, please include "The George McAlmon Inn of Court - Membership Nominations" in the subject line.

The George McAlmon Inn membership reflects the rich diversity of the El Paso area bench and bar and includes representatives of the plaintiffs' bar, defense bar, government lawyers, corporate counsel, persons working in large and small firms, solo practitioners, and federal and state trial and appellate judges.
