President - Scott S. Berger, Jr., Esquire

Mr. Berger is an associate at Ross Feller Casey, LLP. He practices in the areas of mass tort and catastrophic injury. After graduating from law school in 2012 summa cum laude, he clerked for the Honorable Mark I. Bernstein.

Secretary - Lindsay A. Brown, Esquire

Lindsay Brown is Special Counsel at Duane Morris LLP. Her practice is blend of environmental law and commercial litigation, giving her a wide range of experience from representing major petroleum and chemical companies in billion dollar litigations to efficiently resolving matters without the need for litigation.

Treasurer - Diana Silva, Esquire

Diana Silva is a partner with Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP, where she concentrates her practice in environmental litigation, including statutory contribution and cost recovery actions, toxic tort claims, contractual disputes, and administrative enforcement actions.  She also counsels clients on environmental regulatory compliance matters, as well as permitting related to land development issues.

Counselor - Honorable Mark I. Bernstein (Ret.)

Judge Mark I. Bernstein served as a judge of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania from April 1987 to October 2016. After almost 30 years on the bench, he has entered private practice, performing mediation, arbitration, case consultation, and expert evaluation services. He is certified as an American Arbitration Association mediator.

While on the bench, Judge Bernstein resolved over 10,000 cases as a Major Jury, Class Action, or Commerce Court team leader. He also presided over more than 500 trials including a vast assortment of tort, commercial, class action, and mass tort cases. He brings this depth of experience to the valuation and resolution of civil litigation.

Judge Bernstein writes extensively on the law, particularly in the area of expert testimony. He is the author of comprehensive comments on the Pennsylvania Rules of Evidence. He teaches evidence and civil procedure on the faculty of the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University.

Committee Chairs

Program Committee - Keith West, Esquire

Keith Thomas West, an attorney at Kunnel, Ortiz & Thiruselvam, has worked exclusively on behalf of the wrongfully injured, driven by a passion for justice and a respect for the dignity and rights of his clients. Mr. West handles catastrophic and complex civil lawsuits which routinely settle or achieve jury verdicts of between six and eight figures. Mr. West’s past successes include cases involving severe and catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, consumer protection, medical malpractice, products liability, whistleblower actions, criminal torts, civil rights, contract and business disputes, and the Federal Tort Claims and Federal False Claims Acts.

Liaison Committee - Michelle Paznokas, Esquire

Michelle (Shelly) Paznokas is the Senior Associate Attorney at Stern & Crawford, P.C., where she works on complex medical malpractice litigation and catastrophic personal injury. Shelly currently acts as the Liaison Committee Chair of the Kline School of Law’s Inn of Court and is a member of the Alumni Council. She is also a Faculty Fellow/Co-Professor at the law school, where she has been teaching "Writing Strategies for the Bar” since 2018.

Membership Committee - Ethen Ostroff, Esquire

Mr. Ostroff is an associate at Ostroff Law.  Ethen’s use of technology to convey facts during trial has been integral in many cases. From collaborating with other companies to creating his own trial graphics, Ethen has mastered the ability to illustrate a process or problem when words will simply not suffice. While working at Ostroff Injury Law and as a law clerk for another leading Philadelphia law firm, Ethen used these talents in several cases for catastrophically injured clients.
