Each year, the Inn coordinates with various organizations to help support our community. Some of the past events have included Feed My Starving Children, Big Brothers / Big Sisters, and Toys for Tots.
Second Harvest Heartland
On January 28, 2023, the Second Harvest food sorting event was a wild ride, as we sorted through and packaged – literally – tons of onions. Three Judges participated. Seven children. Five law students. 21 participants in the morning and 28 in the afternoon. Thank you to all who were willing to give up their Saturday time.
On January 29, 2022, 13 members of the Inn (plus a wife, a son, a daughter, and a friend) volunteered 2 hours of their Saturday morning time to package food for this outstanding organization, one of our focused-upon charities. Volunteers worked in both the morning and afternoon sessions packaging onions into 40 pound bags. Not glamorous. Grimy – and odiferous – work; but so rewarding, and so much gratitude expressed by the staff. We were told that the need in our communities continues to grow. We were grateful that we could help.
