Welcome to The Thomas Jefferson American Inn of Court website.

The Thomas Jefferson American Inn of Court is a professional legal organization for litigators based in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas. The purpose of our Inn is to develop litigation skills through peer critique and mentorships as well as to promote ethics and civility in the practice of law. The Inn meets on the second Thursday of every month from September through May at the Legal Aid and Justice Center at 1000 Preston Avenue.

Our Inn members come from every field of law practice, and our meetings benefit from the diverse practice experience and perspectives of our members. Each year, our attorneys are divided into groups that collaborate on a presentation to their peers on some aspect of trial practice. These presentations provide opportunities for new and experienced attorneys to meet and develop relationships with one another, to practice the public speaking and advocacy skills that are crucial to our profession, and to foster the development of younger attorneys.

You are welcome to join us at one of our meetings. First time guests are welcome with no charge; however, please contact one of our officers so we can make appropriate arrangements for catering.
