About the Michigan State University College of Law Inn of Court

The MSU College of Law/Detroit College of Law Alumni Association and the Michigan State University College of Law sponsor an American Inn of Court. Over 300 Inns of Court have been established in legal communities throughout the United States.

Michigan State University College of Law American Inn of Court meets at MSU College of Law, located at the intersection of Shaw and Bogue on the Michigan State University Campus, East Lansing, Michigan.

Joining Our Inn

Applications are welcome from any practicing attorney or judge.  Membership is limited, and the number of admissions is based on the number of available openings.  Successful applicants are admitted as Law Students (1L, 2L, and 3L), Associates (licensed 0-5 years), Barristers (licensed 6-15 years) or Masters (licensed over 15 years).  The range of members provides a solid basis for mentoring practitioners at the Associate level with special emphasis on Law Students.

The American Inns of Court Professional Creed

Now therefore, as a member of an American Inn of Court, I hereby adopt this professional creed with a pledge to honor its principles and practices:

  • I will treat the practice of law as a learned profession and will uphold the standards of the profession with dignity, civility and courtesy.
