The Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court Scholarship

The Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court Scholarship was created in October 2011, in recognition of the valuable contributions of our law student members (Pupils) to the development and presentation of the Inn's programs.

2012-2013 Benjamin Frankin Inn Scholarship WinnerMario Milano

The winner of the second annual BFAIC Scholarship is Mario T. Milano. Mario was selected as the recipient of this year's award based on his outstanding participation in two of the Inn's pupillage groups.

The pupillage group leaders for both the January 2013 and March 2013 meetings nominated Mario based on his contribution and dedication to the presentations. Mario will receive his J.D. in 2013 from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden.

2011-2012 BFAIC Scholarship Finalists and WinnerAmber Stiles

The winner of the 2011-2012 Scholarship was Amber Stiles, a student at Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law.

The finalists were Laura Gordon, Matthew Herd, and Steven Kellner, all students at Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law, and Serenity Wang, a student at Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Information about the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court Scholarship

No application process is necessary. Each of the Inn's Pupils who actively participated in at least one program as a member of a pupillage group will be considered for the award.

The following resolution, passed by the Board on October 17, 2011, governs the terms and conditions of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court Scholarship.

Resolved:

The Board will annually award the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court Scholarship (the "Scholarship") to a Pupil who participated actively as a member and made a significant contribution to one or more of the Inn's programs. The amount of the Scholarship will be $500.00 in 2011-2012, and thereafter, the Board will annually determine the amount of the Scholarship and announce the Scholarship at the Inn's organizational meeting. Following the final substantive meeting of each year, a committee consisting of the year's pupillage group leaders will propose a recipient, and the Board will award the scholarship based on the committee's recommendation.
