Membership Information
The Polly Jackson Spencer Probate American Inn of Court brings together a cross-section of lawyers, law students, and judges interested in the field of Estates/Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship, and Trust law and in furthering the goals of the American Inns of Court.
The Inn members are categorized as follows:
- Bencher, lawyers with at least thirty (30) years of experience at the Bar;
- Including honorary status for current probate judges
- Barrister, lawyers with fifteen to thirty (15-30) years of experience at the Bar;
- Associate, lawyers with less than fifteen (15<) years of experience, admitted to the Bar;
- Pupil, including law students with an interest in Estate, Probate, and Trust law
The members are grouped into "Pupillage Groups," each of which generally includes members from each category and diverse backgrounds. Each Pupillage Group is responsible for conducting one program a year for the Inn.
