The Oliver Seth American Inn of Court, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a distinguished professional organization dedicated to fostering professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence in the practice of law. Named in honor of Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Oliver Seth, our Inn brings together judges, experienced attorneys, and aspiring legal professionals to promote mentorship, education, and the highest ethical standards in the legal community.
Our Mission

- Providing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) opportunities for skill development and professional growth.

The Inn members are responsible for preparing and presenting the monthly programs. Each member is assigned to a group, called a “pupillage,” which is responsible for organizing one of the monthly programs. Typically, the Inn has nine pupillages, with the objective of presenting nine programs per year. Each pupillage includes representatives from all membership categories, ensuring a diverse and enriching learning experience.
Membership Categories
The Oliver Seth American Inn of Court offers membership to legal professionals at various stages of their careers:
- Judges & Masters of the Bench – Senior judges and experienced attorneys who provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to members.
- Barristers – Mid-level attorneys with 5 to 15 years of experience, actively engaged in programs and discussions.
- Associates – Early-career attorneys with less than 5 years of experience, eager to learn and develop professional skills.
- Pupils – Law students selected to gain real-world insights, mentorship, and networking opportunities within the legal community.
Each category plays a vital role in supporting the Inn’s mission and ensuring a collaborative, multi-generational exchange of legal knowledge and experience.
