Judge Consuelo M. Callahan Inn President's Message
The Judge Consuelo M. Callahan Inn of Court was founded in 2006
to bring together attorneys at all experience levels, law
professors, judges, and law students. Through participation in Inn
membership, senior members serve as mentors to junior members. All
members benefit from the ethical programs that focus on gaining
practical knowledge and improving professional skills. An added
benefit that is derived from Inn membership and a fundamental goal
of the Inn is to increase civility among our local bar.
Our Inn is sworn to our #1 rule: "What happens at the Inn, stays
in the Inn!" This is an important rule to foster and encourage
mutual trust and respect. In turn, people will feel more
comfortable discussing sensitive issues without fear or reprisal or
criticism at a later date.
Our namesake, Judge Consuelo "Connie" M. Callahan, was chosen for
good reason. Judge Callahan sits on the 9th Circuit Court of
Appeal, but still resides in Stockton, Ca. She has risen high in
her career, but maintains her local contacts and frequently attends
local Court or Bar functions. Judge Callahan has served her
community well, devoting her entire career to public service. She
is respected and admired by this community, both legal and
non-legal alike.
Our Inn has approximately 90 members at this time. This season is
sure to be another successful one for this newly formed Inn,
gauging by the level of participation and enthusiasm members have
shown so far.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve our Inn. Welcome
friends!
