Professionalism and Clients: Zealous Representation,
Reasonably Diligent or Overly Meek?
Five presented an excellent program that generated plenty
of lively discussion from the audience. The program
focused on professionalism instead of simply
ethics, and included scenarios involving perfectly ethical
decisions by lawyers that nevertheless had implications for
professionalism and the business side of the practice. The
hypotheticals involved four partners in a firm, discussing whether
or not to keep a junior partner, after his handling of several
different cases. There was also some fine acting on the
part of the partners!
