Matthew J. Tuttle (1967-2024)
The Boston American Inn of Court mourns the untimely passing of Inn member Matthew Tuttle.
An accomplished attorney and longtime member of the Inn’s Executive Committee, Matt was truly an exemplar of the Inn’s mission and spirit. For over two decades, Matt dedicated himself to the Inn's goal of advancing the highest standards of excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills. As an influential member of the Executive Committee, and co-President in 2018-2019, Matt was essential in making the Boston Inn a national leader, helping the Inn to grow while staying true to its mission.
Matt was a great colleague, selfless, and brimming with knowledge, judgment, commitment, and humor. He took it upon himself to welcome new members and continued to take a personal interest in their professional development throughout the ensuing years, always willing to listen and offer helpful guidance. He inspired fellow members at every meeting, instilling in us all his own enthusiasm for the profession and life generally.
We will miss Matt.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
He was a great friend of the Inn, a friend of the bar and bench, and, most importantly and for so many of us, simply a friend
